Why Should Women Swim?

HEALTH BENEFITS: Studies have shown that you can slow down those pesky effects of aging with regular swimming! Every time you dive in, you improve your blood and oxygen flow to your brain; increasing your cardiovascular health can also help you reduce your blood pressure.

Regular exercise improves bone health, vital for perimenopausal and menopausal women. Swimming, in particular, is so valuable because there is less stress on your bones and joints.

Swimming while pregnant is one of the best exercises you can engage in. The low-impact nature of swimming will reduce the added stress demands on your lower back and minimize the risk of injury.

Swimming can:

  • reduce nausea in pregnant women
  • relieves edema/lower limb swelling
  • the natural buoyancy in the water relieves the stress on your lower back
  • improves blood circulation
  • can lead to a smoother pregnancy, labor, and delivery

Plus, there aren’t many other forms of exercise that will keep you cool and refreshed while doing it!

ROLE MODEL – Be a great role model for your children! Help them recognize that swimming is a fantastic lifelong activity and a life-saving sport. Teach them from a young age that caring for their body is essential for lifelong health.
