Kids Swim Lessons / Learn to Swim – The Best Way to Learn to Swim
A study in 2009 discovered that when children have formal swim lessons, they have a much lower risk of accidental drowning. Learning to swim is such an essential skill that it lasts a lifetime. Florida has over 30,000 lakes and 1,350 miles of coastline; as of October 2020, there were 1.4 million backyard swimming pools. With water everywhere in our state, learning to swim is vital.
While vital, kids’ swim lessons are not just about water safety. Although that’s a big part of the experience, learning to swim is also really fun, and it’s something that kids can enjoy for the rest of their lives.
Not all sports are suited for all ages, but swimming is. Kids’ swim lessons can be undertaken at any age, and swimming is a skill that is best developed early and can provide opportunities in numerous sports, such as competitive swimming, water polo, artistic swimming/synchronized swimming, triathlons, competitive diving, surfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving. Swimming can also lead to job opportunities, such as lifeguarding, coaching, and being a swim instructor.
Swim lessons can help your child’s education; some studies have shown that kids who undertake swim lessons early have more of the necessary learning skills that kids need in school. This means they might do better in school. As swimmers’ skills advance, they learn real-world applications of physics, math skills, and biomechanics.
